Many of you have heard the name Noam Chomsky. I don't know how many of you have ever read anything by him. I know that NPR likes to villify him in passing from time to time without ever seriously talking about his ideas or what he has said.
There are also a lot of lies told about him (like he's a Holocaust denier or that he has denied that atrocities occurred in Cambodia.)
In any event, here is an excellent piece from "Democracy Now," which is a transcript of a speech professor Chomsky recently gave in New Mexico.
It deals with the Bushies' and the neocons' stated "mission" to defeat tyranny in the world, and what exactly their conception of "democracy" consists of. I strongly recommend reading it:

Complimenting this piece, is an article from the most recent issue of the progressive online publication "The Black Commentator" on the "pirates'" brand of "democracy." Read this as well:

As you can see from these articles, there are a significant amount of people in this country who see and realize what's really going on with the way the U.S. conducts itself in its foreign affairs. Unfortunately, such people rarely get any exposure in the corporate meida.
By the way, the next time someone tells you the media is "liberal," show them a copy of one of these two articles and ask him or her when was the last time he or she saw a mainstream media outlet present views such as the ones expressed in these articles.
