Just think. One week ago, the main topic diaries was "wake up Democratic Leaders!" and "our party has failed us". Our blogging futures might have been coming to an end, with the FCC pushing blogging regulations. Our party had failed us, Republicans were as strong as ever, and we were headed to either a defeat in 2006, or more Democrats who just didn't care abour our issues, and were practically the same as Republicans.
Joe Lieberman dominated the diaries.
Then came Terri Schiavo.
Terri Schiavo, someone who should die, as to her wishes, has brought down Bush's approval to 43 percent. An issue that Republicans felt would help them cruise to 2006 suddenly backfired. For once, Democrats did not back the Republicans on this, and actually held their own ground.
Hell, even Joe Lieberman wasnt on FOX today telling us how Democrats were wrong!
Republicans tried to capitalize on something that has done the opposite. Here is our momentum. Can we sustain it 19 months?
Republicans thought their bullshit "right to live" issue would help them. Instead, someone who wanted to and because of that should be allowed to die (in peace), is getting her wishes. She is not suffering.
The only ones suffering because of this is the GOP.
..Just my thoughts as I sit in high school history class...
