I couldn't find another diary on this, but I came across this article on SF Gate:
Napa foundation donates to attorney of Terri Schiavo's parents
and it just made my blood boil at its glib lies and slander, so much that I had to write my first ever diary. The article is about a how a conservative, anti-abortion legal foundation has been funding the Schindler's for 4 years, and yet the words "conservative" and "anti-abortion don't appear in the article!
More after the break, including my LTE:
First the lies. Compare:
Schiavo has no living will. Her husband Michael claims she has no hope of recovery and his wife would not want to continue living in a vegetative state. Her parents hold out hope of recovery and are trying to keep her alive, but as of midday today, no judge had ordered her feeding tube reinserted.
and
Cody said this morning that Terri Schiavo is not in a persistent vegetative state.
"She is a cognitively disabled woman whose life is under threat of death,'' Cody said.
then the slander:
She said the media have focused on the legal maneuverings by Schiavo's parents, Congress and Florida Gov. Jeb Bush to keep Schiavo alive, but have ignored Michael Schiavo's use of money intended for Schiavo's medical care to pay his attorney to help end her life.
"He hasn't been put under the same scrutiny as the Schindlers,'' Cody said.
What is "Bay City News", anybody know?
Finally, my LTE:

What an interesting article. Interesting for the fact that the organization covered in the article, the Life Legal Foundation, is a conservative, anti-abortion group, with a long history of using the courts to try to limit a woman's right to choose, and yet the words "conservative" and "anti-abortion" do not appear in the article.
Interesting for how the representative of this organization, Dana Cody, is allowed to insinuate that Michael Shiavo is misappropriating funds, and Mr. Schiavo is not given the opportunity to address the accusation.
Interesting for how it presents the unsupported claims that Mrs. Schiavo is not in a persistent vegetative state, and that her condition is "treatable".
Mostly the article was interesting for its remarkable degree of bias. Please, do us all a favor: the next time your organization decides to cover the money trail on the Schiavo case, assign the article to your competition.
Sincerely,
Me
