Hey all, some of you might be interested in this - I just put the finishing touches on an alpha version of a Social Security graphing tool - it allows you to visualize the Social Security budget using parameters you choose.
Here's an example graph, showing the budget surplus from '98 to '08, using '05 projections, with a line of comparison to the old '03 projection:
Want to try it out to make a different graph?
That's just an example. You can pick any year range you want, or other historic projections, and make your own graph. You can link to the resulting page. And I've got plans to expand it to be able to easily visualize more data. A trust fund graphing tool will come soon. Graphing other budget data will be possible, too. (Anyone have a data set of Bush's past-year budget projections? That could be entertaining...)
