More and more recently, I've been noticing that diarists have been posting the entire text of news articles in their diaries. That practice is a violation of federal copyright law, and could potentially get both the diarist and Markos in trouble.
In order to avoid this problem, diarists should only post a few key paragraphs of the stories they are citing (a good rule of thumb is a four paragraph max), provide the link, and tell readers to "read the whole thing."
It's really quite a simple solution which doesn't hurt diary quality and typically avoids potential problems with the copyright laws. At the very least, we owe it to Kos to play by the rules. The last thing he needs are angry letters from newspaper lawyers threatening lawsuits and subpeonas.

spoken on this issue.
