WARNING: THIS DIARY IS NOT FOR THE POLITICALLY CORRECT
I've avoided the pie controversy until now because it just wasn't anything that I was interested in though it obviously has set off a furor. So today, I finally watched the ad and below the fold I will raise an issue that I don't think has been addressed.
Does the size of Mary Ann's butt reflect cultural bias in our society ?
Given that it's stickin' up in the air on every diary page of dKos, one can't help but notice the butt. In many fashion magazines, the women pictured are unnaturally skinny, have no butts and I can see how young women would have all sorts of eating disorders and self-image problems if they were trying to attain that look as a goal. However, most men I know are not attracted to women who are too thin. If making themselves appealing to men is a factor, there's really no reason for there to be anorexic women. Especially among black or Latino men, few like skinny women. I've even known a few men who feel that a woman's butt could never be too large for them...extreme I know.
Which brings me to Mary Ann's butt. Mary Ann's butt is shapely, though the ad reveals that it is not sculpted, in a butt blaster, gym toned way...which is fine. The still photograph makes Mary Ann's butt appear a little larger than in the video. However, Mary Ann's butt appears to be a bit small given the proportions of the rest of her body.
I don't know anything about this show but have a suggestion. If this is a T& A reality show, then I think some bigger booty Mary Anns ought to be included in future casts.
