In a comment on the
Non-DEAN fan changes her mind!!! diary (Still up, last I looked.) regarding the relative lack of anti-Dean commenters here the last few days, Dancing Larry wrote "Heh, there's plenty of them right here at dKos. Won't name names, but I'm shocked at their absence in this thread. They usually feel it their duty to come in throwing hateful angry stinkbombs in any thread where Deaniacs have gathered."
And I answered:
Maybe it's because the anti-Dean tide has turned.
Really.
(More after the break.)
Maybe it's because the anti-Dean tide has turned. The tide of
HISTORY.
Low tide is good for SOME critters...scavengers, mostly, like the Bush crowd and many of the anti-Dean Dems (the PermaGov supporters, the quasi-Ratpubs)...bad for others.
The tide has DEFINITELY turned against BushCo. I think July 4th, 2005 will be remembered as a real turning point regarding the end of the neo-con nightmare. Rove/Plame, the DSM, the increasingly apparent Iraq debacle... all are for the first time dancing into real sight in the MSM now, with more to come. Whoever is orchestrating the anti-Bush movement...and you can be sure that it is being at least to SOME degree orchestrated, whether by psy-op propagandists of the intel corps, by a benevolent God or simply by a neutral universe that does what it does no matter which way we insignificant specks of dust think that we are steering it...who or whatever is at work here still has the rest of the Abu Ghraib pictures (XXX rated, you BETCHA!!!), the vote fraud witnesses (They're OUT there...), and probably 1000 more whistle blowers waiting for a chance to tell THEIR stories once it becomes clear that the neo-con thought police are just about out of ammunition.
And at the same time, as the tide turns against one sort of political animal it turns toward another.
Howard Dean, whose emotional and political honesty so affronted many Americans only two years ago, suddenly begins to look more like a mainstream antidote instead of a radical poison.
"There is a tide in the affairs of men, which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune; omitted, all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and miseries." said ol' Will.
Yup.
Howard's a good sailor.
"Tide's in!!!"
And things they are a'changin'.
Even on dKos.
Out with the old.
In with the new.
"Tide's in!!!"
And what's for dinner?
Bush steak for us...crow for them.
Let us pray.
Or be preyed UPON.
