Cindy reads messages here, I think, so let's tell her all about how the vigils went in our towns.
In Greenville, SC, we had 70 or more people show up, despite thunder storms moving through the area in the late afternoon. It was raining as I left my house.
Someone brought a harmonica and played Amazing Grace and Blowin' in the Wind. A woman who'd been to Iraq working with relief efforts spoke briefly. We had 7 people come forward when the organizer asked if anyone in the crowd had lost a loved one.
All peaceful. Two people shouted from cars as they drove by, but I couldn't tell what they said.
Had no idea we had that many Peace activists in Greenville.
