Tennesseans for Feingold
Earlier this year Feingold introduced a resolution calling on the Administration to set a time table for withdrawing American forces from Iraq. Seeing that no one has stepped up to the plate, Feingold will announce today at a town hall meeting that troops should be withdrawn by December 31,2006. In Feingold's own
words:
Nobody's really responding to it [his resolution calling for withdrawal] so now I'm thinking about at least throwing out there what kind of a timetable we should have. I don't think I'm the one who should be deciding that but if nobody is going to have the guts to talk about it, I think I'd better start talking about it."Feingold says the president is not showing leadership in dealing with the Iraqi war by not having an exit plan. "There's no science to it. It obviously involves a lot of factors, there has to be some flexibility, but at some point you just have to make a judgment that things aren't working and that we need to finish what we can and cut our losses and return to the focus on the real fight against terrorism...
Whether you're for or against a Feingold run in 08, you have to admit that the Senator does step up to the plate when no one else will. He is not afraid to take a stand, and that's the kind of leader we need to direct our country.
