With all the problems going on in America, as well as in other parts of the world, it's really easy for us to forget some less-discussed burdens our fellow human beings face. But these burdens aren't any easier to bear than the ones we write dozens of diaries about per day. One of these under-discussed issues is that of hunger.
However, there are several websites online that give us the opportunity to contribute to the fight against hunger without even taking a penny out of our pocketbooks and bank accounts. One of these websites is Stop the Hunger.
Everyone should have this site bookmarked. All you have to do is click on the box once a day, and you help provide 3 and 1/3 cups of food for the hungry in America.
It's absolutely free.
Please pass it on to everyone you know. They can only count one click per person per day (most likely done by IP addresses), but if you pass it to just 5 friends or family members (for example), then the six of you will effectively give 20 cups of food to the hungry -- Every day you click.
There are other sites as well. Each offers us a chance to put an end to an evil, and to do a little bit of good for people we might never meet, but who, in this global world where everything is connected, depend on us every bit as much as we depend on them for our existence, and our survival.
The Hunger Site.
The Breast Cancer Site.
The Child Health Site.
The Literacy Site.
There are many more, but if you don't have time to click on these each day, I hope you can at least find the time to click on stopthehunger, as it seems to provide the most food out of any site I've come across since I started clicking.
If you click on any of these sites today, you will have made a difference in the lives of those less fortunate. Thank you for reading my diary, and thank you for considering my words.
Please pass it on. Hunger is not inevitable.
