I don't know if this has been mentioned before but I found this on the CTV website this morning.
President Hamid Karzai on Tuesday challenged the need for continued U.S.-led military operations in Afghanistan
It appears that even Karzai has had it with the ineffectual US led operations in his country. He seems to recognize what the Bush administration seems incapable of, that the real threat is being largely ignored. He has raised his voice in the call for a more effective campaign with less window dressing.
Instead, he recommended that foreign governments should "concentrate on where terrorists are trained, on their bases, on the supply to them, on the money coming to them" -- a veiled reference to alleged support that militants get from neighboring Pakistan.
It appears the President of Afghanistan wants his country back ... who knew ... and when the Afghan President is more on the ball than the American President you have to begin to realize that something is very very wrong.
