Am I crazy or does this mark a major shift in the way the MSM is characterizing the war. It's been widely reported that the Sunnis, and particularly former Bathists, make up a substantial portion of the insurgency. But Reuters, in its article on the assination of the Sadam trial defense lawyer says this:
"The assassination of Janabi, who Baghdad lawyers said had been an old personal friend of the former dictator, came as Saddam's formerly dominant Sunni Arab minority wages a bloody insurgency against the Shi'ite- and Kurdish-led government and its U.S. backers."

The Sunni's are "waging" the insurgency, not "participating in" it or "masterminding" it or "comprising a large portion" of it. And no mention of islamists or foreign fighters. And the war is against the Shi'ites, the Kurds and...us.
I think the bogus referendum results made pretty clear where the battle lines are but I'm sure I've never seen it put so starkly. And this is Reuters.
