that will warm the cockles of your heart. Not only does a very wealthy fellow give a cool million to an educational institution with a reputation for being good at education, it requires that the institution invest in companies that give small loans to poor people wanting to start businesses.
It's a double!
And, the educational institution, Tufts University, has agreed to the strings and applauded them. I applaud the donors, Pierre M. Omidyar, the founder of eBay, and his wife, and the spirit of his philanthropy. I don't know his politics, but my guess is he is intelligent and thoughtful and thus probably progressive.
