The world is growing stranger every day. Suddenly, heroes are villains, truthtellers are liars, and liars are, well, who knows? So I've taken to looking for information directly from sources I perceive to be reliable.
Today, I was reviewing the week's news. Watchful that news might easily be buried just before the holidays, I was scanning through GlobalSecurity.org information and linked up with a November 17 story from Radio Free Europe (http://www.rferl.org/...
). I quote:
White House spokesman Scott McClellan said it is "baffling that [Murtha] is endorsing the policy positions of ...the extreme liberal wing of the Democratic Party."
Is it me, or has somebody been doing a little cleanup before the holidays? And not inviting Michael Moore to the party?
For those of you who, like me, are late to blogging and grew up naively believing that Radio Free Europe was the voice of freedom to unfree nations, SourceWatch (http://www.sourcewatch.org/...) provides the information that Radio Free Europe is still funded by the U.S. Congress (our money) through the Broadcasting Board of Governors. Illustrious members of this august body include Kenneth Tomlinson and Condileeza Rice.
I doubt that Michael Moore is offended to be left out of this news story, but as an American citizen with respect for free speech, I certainly am outraged at its incompleteness. Do we have to be subpoena everybody to get "... the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth."
