Time Magazine has (probably) already chosen its Person of the Year, and will unveil their selection on their big TV screen in Times Square on Dec. 19, if I'm not mistaken.
Their current nominees are:
Steve Jobs
Pope Benedict XVI
Bill and Melinda Gates
The Google Guys
J.K. Rowling
Rick Warren
Condoleezza Rice
Valerie Plame
Bono
Mother Nature
George W. Bush
Lance Armstrong
Who do you think it should be? My thoughts on the flip ...
Remember, the criteria is whoever affected the news and our lives the most, for good or ill. Given that, I would add Karl Rove, Tom DeLay and Patrick Fitzgerald to the list. For that matter, I'd also add Mike Brown. I also think Pope John Paul II is a better candidate than Pope Benny XVI.
There's a good case to be made for Steve Jobs given that this has been The Year of the iPod.
And I think Mother Nature would be an inspired choice.
I would also add The American Blogger to the list. And, of course, Kos himself. :)
What do you think?
(PS...Take the Person of the Year Quiz. It's pretty fascinating.)
