Here, at last, a call for a popular uprising, against the Bush administration.
In the words of Al Gore yesterday;
As I stand here today, I am filled with optimism that America is on the eve of a golden age in which the vitality of our democracy will be re-established and will flourish more vibrantly than ever. Indeed I can feel it in this hall.
As Dr. King once said, "Perhaps a new spirit is rising among us. If it is, let us trace its movements and pray that our own inner being may be sensitive to its guidance, for we are deeply in need of a new way beyond the darkness that seems so close around us."
For the first time in a long time, I feel compelled to act. I'm not sure just exactly what confluence of thought or circumstance lead to this point, only that I have arrived. I want to see the Mall in Washington DC, flooded with people as it hasn't been in a long time, all calling for popular revolution - - an impeachment of this president, an investigation into the crooked financing and bribery of our elected officials, a restoration of the democratic ideals on which this country was founded, and a demand that the voice of the people be paramount in everything.
I am sure that traditional venues are not the way to bring this about. I have no experience in arranging anything of this sort, but the surety of my convictions tells me this must happen. I lay awake all last night, thinking how grand it would be to have this happen next month, on President's Day - - o, the symmetry.
I would like for this diary to be a place to brainstorm. We have seen the injustice, we have read about the outrage; my question is, how do we now act?
Edit: 12:50 PM EDT Just about an hour on the new diaries list, and then off to digital oblivion. The moral of the story; dKos is not the place for action. Discussion, perhaps, but alas not results.
