In listening to the audio of Bush respond to Tiffany Cooper's question, I am struck by one aspect: you can almost feel Bush's head snap to a state of wariness when he realizes the audience is applauding Tiffany's question. The attempt that follows, by Bush, to dismiss, to obfuscate, is pathetic and obvious, but reaches a high point when Bush comes up with the concept of "reform." The red-Kansas audience broke the zombie-love for just a minute when it responded (applause for Tiffany Cooper, who queried how $12.7 billion in education cuts was supposed to help students) to something real, but sadly fell back into the dutiful state of stuporous "respect" for authority as Bush groped for a way to deflect and distort the truth. Very sad. These students and all of the Young College Republicans who behave this way are much scarier than Bush and cronies. Until these zombies break through the brainwashing they have undergone and start booing when leaders like Bush stand in front of them and LIE to them, nothing will change. I hate it so much.
