OK, Iraq is, if not at a melting point, almost there. It's full fledged civil-religious war. The American People are giving the war and its president their lowest approval ratings ever.
But Dems in Congress keep giving them 40, 50, 80, 90 Billion a year to continue. Why?
Because if you don't You're Not Supporting The Troops
That's the line that nobody wants to hear. It's the line that partially killed us in 2004.
The troops. The troops. The troops. You've got to support the troops
The troops have provided ideological protection for the president as much as the Secret Service does his physical protection.
Or for a more apt metaphor, they are the pawns placed well in front of the king on the chess board.
How do you overcome this bulwark? How does a congressman get past this seemingly insurmountable obstacle?
