I've got some serious issues with Tweety, but I'll give credit where credit is due.
The woman who stood up and asked Bush at his press conference yesterday why the media doesn't cover the "good news" in Iraq and her husband (Gayle and Kent Taylor) were on Tweety's show tonight.
To my great surprise, Tweety asked fairly clear questions about why she believes the media coverage is unfair. She had nothin', basically.
Her husband, so it turns out, is a PR guy for the Army National Reserve. That's all well and good, but my ears perked up a little bit when he assured us all that he had knowledge that certain media members are opposed to the effort in Iraq, opposed to the President, and opposed to his Christian Values. Them's mighty strong words.
To his credit, Tweety pressed him about whether he had any specific evidence of that, and he had... nothin'. Any specific instances he'd like to share? Nope. Any anecdotes to support that assertion? Nope. Why does he think that? Based on watching the news.
See that's the guy's problem right there. How are you supposed to get to the truth of things just by watching the news? You have to get out there. Interview the reporters. Find out what makes them tick. What high school did they go to? Who did they take to the prom? Who's their favorite superhero? Now get back out there and get some gum on yer shoes, boy!
