So the plan that Rove and Cheney came up with to counter Plamegate is to place the blame for the leaks directly on the president?
Wow.
Bush and Cheney and Rove and Libby and whoever else may have leaked or authorized the leak of classified information to the press are off the hook...because the president authorized it--meaning, it wasn't classified because of that authorization.
Wow. They are So. Fucking. Stupid.
Brit Hume and John Hinderaker and Cliff May and Brian York and all the other wannabe deputized posse members of Sheriff George Bush in the Adventures of President Man! have been sent the first trial balloons to see how they fly.
Holy fucking shit are they stupider than stupider lumps of squirrel turd.
More Wow! below.
The president authorized the leak of information from a highly-classified National Intelligence Estimate, thereby making the classified info, with the touch of his magic finger, automatically declassified? That's what they're going with?
(Just as an aside: Can President Bush call Kim Jong Il on the red phone, right this minute, and tell him the identity of all our spies in North Korea? Can he?)
Holy shit. I just can not be getting this right.
Do they realize what was leaked? Do you know what they're saying?
They are saying this:
President Bush authorized the release of highly classified information in order to smear American citizen and, by the first President George Bush's estimation, "American Hero," Ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV.
That's what they're saying. The leak was to discredit Wilson. With lies and twists and innuendo. With nothing that truthfully backed up their stated reasons to go to war. It simply was an attempt to make Wilson look bad. That's what they are admitting to.
They are also saying this:
President George W. Bush authorized the revealing of the identity of an American spy for the CIA, Valerie Plame Wilson, in order to smear her husband, Joseph Wilson.
He allowed the identity of an American spy to be revealed to the world in order to personally smear her husband, because her husband had exposed an "untruth" spoken by President Bush during the run-up to the war in Iraq.
President Bush acknowledged that Wilson was right about the "untruth," [ Read: "lie"] but that didn't stop him from wanting to smear Wilson for revealing the "untruth," and it did not stop him from even going so far as revealing classified information--most importantly the identity of an American spy--in order to smear him.
Perhaps the most frightening aspect of the admission is that they are saying this:
That President Bush authorized the revealing of the identity of an undercover agent of the CIA who was working to gain knowledge of Iran's nuclear weapons program.
When Hinderaker, Hume, Limbaugh, May, and the rest say that it wasn't classified information that was leaked, they're admitting what they must admit: that the president authorized the leak of the information. They are stupid enough to think that it lets the president off the hook.
Even if they say that Bush and Cheney and the rest did not know that Valerie Plame was a covert agent, that makes not a bit of difference. They're admitting to the smear job.
They don't realize how bad it makes them, President Bush, Vice President Cheney, and the entire White House look.
They soon will.
Update [2006-4-7 15:20:59 by Earl]:: Bink reminds me that i forgot to add that they're admitting also to the fact that the president lied about the leak. Lied about knowing who leaked the info. Double, triple, and quadruple WOW, they are so fucking dumb. Thanks, Bink.
