My letter to the editor got published in the
Salt Lake Tribune today.
In 2004, Katrina was a name. Brownie was a dessert. Scooter was a vehicle of transportation, not of leaks. Wiretaps required a court order. Iraq was turning the corner. Global warming was a lot of hot air. Vice presidents didn't shoot people. Torture was beyond the pale. And Tom DeLay was king of the hill.
In 2006, we know more. Six years of Republican control of all branches of government have brought lies, corruption, incompetence and deficits. Whichever way you voted in 2004, it's time to take responsibility and get this great country back on the right path. There is no excuse for voting Republican anymore.
Both Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County have democratic mayors, so there is hope for Utah. This is my small contribution to chip away at Bush's approval rating, one letter to the editor at a time.
