I left a meeting today and a colleague said "See you next week. We are leaving tonight to go to [daughter's] graduation"
Thawing the halibut filet and rinsing dishes at home, my phone rang and a neighbor said "Can you grab our newspaper and mail Saturday - we are leaving tomorrow to go to our nephew's graduation"
Some did it last week, some are doing it this week, some will do it next week (or the week after)- in bunches, like grapes, there are graduations going on.
Who
are these people?
There have been diaries and posts from many who are referencing facing their final "final exams".
We know, from recent DKos demographic research, that many here are of an age to be parents (or grandparents) of potential graduates.
Scattered about are those who went back to school in "later life" and are finally fulfilling a dream.
A few are not "traditional" students - mature spouses, career changers, even grandparents who are graduating along with or ahead of the next generation(s)
Many are marking a benchmark on a long road - graduating high school and on the way to a college, moving into graduate work in law or medicine, etc.
Here's a place to tell your story. Whatever that story is - GOOD FOR YOU, CONGRATULATIONS, WOW!!!
