Kossack kestrel9000
diaried this yesterday, but I think it merits action from all of us.
I urge you to go read this article in full, if you can stomach it. More below the jump.
Michael Novak is a conservative writer who apparently believes that President George W. Bush should get a free pass. He calls him "The Bravest President".
For example:
What I do want to argue is that, after Washington and Lincoln, Bush is the bravest of our presidents. He has faced the most intense fire, hatred, contempt, heavily moneyed and bitterly acidic partisan opposition, underhandedness, betrayal, of any president in the last hundred years. He has faced hostility over a longer time, in possibly the most dangerous period of international warfare in our national history. He has remained constant, firm, decided, and generous (to a fault) with his opponents.
Yes. He's remained constant, all right. Constantly stupid. Constantly willing to break more than 750 laws. Constantly willing to send more than 2000 of our own to their deaths in Iraq. Generous, in the sense that everything he does benefits his Corporate Cronies. How convenient of you to ignore that, Mr. Novak. Do you think the people of New Orleans believe that he was generous?
I think this calls for action, Kossacks.
I found a form from his website here that allows us to send email to Mr. Novak. I think it would be beneficial to let him know what we all think about his article. I couldn't find a proper, direct email address for him, if someone else finds one, I'll be glad to post it in an update.
One more thing that had me shaking my head in disgust from this article:
I like this guy. And I admire his guts, and his decency.
I would sure like an example of "his guts and his decency." I sure haven't seen them.
Thanks for the idea, kestrel9000. This was all due to your catch yesterday as noted above. I thought it was slipping by without the attention that it deserved, therefore I came up with this idea. Hope it helps!
