Sometimes it really amazes me that the news Americans would be really interested in is all but impossible to find in the American media. Yet, I pop over to New Zealand and I find out there actually is an investigation into Bush's propoganda machine.

WASHINGTON - Federal authorities are investigating dozens of American television stations for broadcasting items produced by the Bush administration and major corporations, and passing them off as normal news.
I'd be amazed if anyone here was actually suprised by any of what this investigation is finding:
"We know we only had partial access to these VNRs and yet we found 77 stations using them," said Diana Farsetta, one of the group's researchers.
I think it's been covered here multiple times that Bush and/or the GoP was paying reporters and PR companies to produce propoganda for US and Iraqi consumption. I think the real news here is that there is actually an investigation. Unfortunately the fine for the broadcast companies is barely a slap on the wrist, and most likely the corperations and the GoP won't even get that much.
I really think manipulating the public is just a game for these people. They really don't look at the rest of us as people, simply meat puppets with a vote.
