Ok this is not for you guys that are finding the morning session that's being televised on C-Span stimulating. This is for the attendees that are thinking 'Yup, YKos is great but this panel just...isn't" (and from the shots that I'm getting of audience members with eyes closed there's more of you than you admit.
Well, fear not. You're in Vegas and today is a special day for players. Why? Well check out the flip.
Yes boys and girls, today is BELMONT STAKES DAY. A day when we celebrate the third jewel of Racing's Triple Crown at the second most beautiful racetrack in America. And, for you attendees that might just be getting a little itchy, you have a race book room right in your hotel.
Now those of you who may recognize me from C&J will know that I crashed and burned at the Derby with 'Bob and John' (that's a horse's name, not who I was with). I then rebounded in the Preakness with Brenardini (and yes, i'm well aware of what happened, I'm old enough to have been at the track when Ruffian broke down. But Barbaro's doing well and my guilt is assuaged.)
So therefore, being an unrepentant liberal AND never learning from my past mistakes, I will be betting a horse that did terribly at the Derby and missed the Preakness. Yes folks, I'm staking my hope on 'Bob and John' AGAIN. But the best part is...YOU GUYS CAN PLAY ALONG. Just go down to the sports bet room at the Riviera, look at the Belmont program that they'll have, (its the 11th race), and for as little as 2 bucks, you too can win enough to at least pay for your cab ride to the airport, or a late supper, or possibly end up staying in Vegas for free.
The race goes off at 3:30 your time. Its on NBC, but you'll have more fun watching it on the big screen in the Racebook room.
Ok, get back to the panel discussion and don't let anyone see this note I passed you. Remember, you're there to save the world, but its Vegas for pity's sake.
