I found this thru a Press Release this morning and have done a little browsing since then. I think many of us will find lots to talk about in the coming year from this new source of discussion.I will start out with the message from the 3 people it's seems will run most of this new Emag, William Galston, Stan Greenberg, and Ruy Teixeira, in thier own words.
We are launching this publication because we believe Democrats must begin to develop political strategies that look beyond the standard two- and four-year time horizons set by the American electoral calendar. Democrats must develop a set of concrete and coherent political strategies for regularly winning elections and over the longer term - perhaps over a decade or more - winning new areas of support and creating nothing less than a stable Democratic majority in the country.
Have I got your attention ? More to follow.
I'll be the first to admit that I can't keep the names and personalitys of all the Dems out there straight. It takes quite a bit for someones name to stick in my mind, so I can't really say a whole lot about these people but I think they may have a good idea here.
This little quote is from the Editorial Philosophy page :
The Democratic Strategist will be emphatically open to all sectors and currents of opinion within the Democratic Party. It will actively seek to be a meeting ground for both centrists and populists, readers of The Nation and The New Republic, professional political consultants, grassroots activists and every significant candidate and perspective within the Democratic Party. The Democratic Strategist will strongly encourage discussion and dialog and will not limit itself to any specific current of thought or point of view within the Democratic community.
Sounds great to me. Now lets take a look at who is going to be writing for them. I think you will know a few of the following names.

Elaine Kamarck and Give "Competence" Another Try: This Time it Might Work.Sounding better and better. Next we have Swing Ideas, not Swing Voters By
Kenneth S. Baer and Andrei Cherny, Moving on there are pieces by
Will Marshall,Robert L. Borosage ,Harold Meyerson,Donna Brazile and John W. Wilhelm. The titles make me want to jump in and do some reading right away. That said, I will give you the link so you can do the same thing. I have sent a email to the editors asking for a comment if they wish to make one. When or if they reply, I will add it to this diary. I hope this turns out to be as good as it sounds.

I have just finished the article by John W. Wilhelm, titled "Do We Care About the Future?". This article lays out how Democrats should go court the immigrant vote, and shows just how the big numbers will be in the near future. Not a bad read. I will add more as I read more
