We are delighted to make your acquaintance. If you made it this far, it's because, like us, you are seekers of truth. You may be pleasantly surprised at what you find here. For one thing, the rumors of our implosion have been greatly exaggerated. You see, we LOVE to argue with one another. It's what we're all about. Without a dialogue and the ability to test one another, how would we ever know where the truth lies and what we stand for?
A few weeks ago, I wrote this (
http://www.dailykos.com/...)introduction for the readers of the NYTimes and Newsweek. Please check it out and the FAQ page to find out a little more about us and how you too can jump into the conversation.

You may have heard that we disagree with the direction of the site and with Kos in general. We love the quality of MaryScott O'Connor's writing but her opinions, or those of Kos for that matter, are no more important than any other Kossack's. (That's what we call one another) But, confidentially, this site is in no danger of imploding. We are growing at fast clip because we have discovered the amazing power of people to make a difference, individually and collectively.
Even so, you will occasionally find language here that might make you uncomfortable. When you are anonymous, it sometimes seems easier to speak your mind. Foul language is sometimes used for emphasis. Still, it's best to be aware that there may be offensive words. Try to read them in context.
Also, many of you may not be aware of the fact that we have our own chaplain of sorts. His name is PastorDan, a real live pastor from the United Church of Christ. He posts our
Brothers and Sisters Prayers on Sunday evenings. You can also find him on his regular blog,
http://www.streetprophets.com. He can even get the Atheists to attend his services so he's a pretty spiritual guy.
Finally, this site is primarily a political site but we entertain all topics and we like to be challenged. So, whether you want to join the conversation, or just want to lurk, you will always find something interesting to read and wonder about.
Welcome and Bon Appetit!
