Per
this article in "The Scotsman," the US is supplying Israel with 600 pound bunker-busters and also sending "hazardous material" to Tel Aviv.
Perhaps this most people were aware of this - I certainly was not... The only reason that it appears to have made the UK news was:
The use of Prestwick triggered a furious diplomatic row last week after it emerged that the US had broken aviation rules by failing to notify Britain about the flights.
Apparently, the US is continuing on in it's fine tradition that it started with extraordinary rendition - but now, instead of "just" flying around people "we'd" like to see tortured, "we're" sending bombs and hazardous materials to Israel.
No wonder we aren't pressing for a cease fire.
Not surprisingly, Mr. Blair thinks it's just grand that the US is making layovers of weaponry (and in the near future, soldiers) in the UK.
The Irish take a view more in line with my own:
The source said: "There is absolutely no way that we would allow munitions or weapons to be shipped through Shannon to a location where there is an actual war going on. We would not allow it. It is correct that we allow the US to transport troops to Shannon, but sending bombs to Israel is another matter and completely out of the question for us."
So... Have I been living under a stone - is it common knowledge that Israel is using our weaponry to fight their war?
