Just heard Lieberman interviewed on the Ed Schultz Show, and his answers were quite revealing. Basically, his comments demonstrate a perverted view and a continued sense of denial when dealing with the critical issues that face this nation.
Ed touched on several items, but I felt the most astonishing response came when Ed asked Lieberman to comment on his assessment of the current situation in Iraq. Specifically he asked Joe what he thought of the demonstrations in the streets of Bagdad today (over 100,000 protesters). Joe's response was that it does show progress because, if Saddam were still in charge, there would have been no protests. No thought given to the fact that these protests were aimed at us! Do we really want this man determining our policies?
Ed asked him what he thought about the lastest national poll specifically relating to the Lieberman/Lamont primary. Appears the poll was just released earlier today and something like only 30 percent agreed with Lieberman's position on Iraq. Joe said he hadn't seen that poll, was simply at a loss (tone just reflected depression). He's definitely feeling the pressure
When asked if he would ask for Rumsfeld's resignation, it was like pulling teeth, but Joe kinda, sorta, ended up yelling, "Yes! Yes!" His first and repeated response was that Rumsfeld "serves at the will of the President." Ed had to pound at this one before Joe finally found himself in a corner, and only then came Joe's affirmative response.
This man is simply not in touch with reality.
