Imagine it's true that someone has hacked Lieberman's site. Then that would be a shame. But you'd think his campaign would be able to fix it by now. At least, Joe could get a basic campaign site up and running by now at the joe2006.com address. It's kind of basic this day in age to have a functioning website for campaigns.
His site may have been hacked, or he may have run out of bandwidth, or he may have taken it down himself and staged the whole thing. But his campaign should have been able to improvise something by now if they really wanted to. And apperently, they are able to post html at that address, because at joe2006.com you find the following message:
STATEMENT FROM SEAN SMITH:
"For the past 24 hours the Friends for Joe Lieberman's website and email has been totally disrupted and disabled, we believe that this is the result of a coordinated attack by our political opponents. The campaign has notified the US Attorney and the Connecticut Chief State's Attorney and the campaign will be filing a formal complaint reflecting our concerns. The campaign has also
notified the State Attorney General Dick Blumenthal for his review."
"We call on Ned Lamont to make an unqualified statement denouncing this kind of dirty campaign trick and to demand whoever is responsible to cease and desist immediately. Any attempt to suppress voter participation and undermine the voting process on Election Day is deplorable and has no place in our democracy."
I think Joe does in fact have a functioning website. It alludes that Joe's opponent may be involved in criminal behavior and unethical campaign practices. I guess Joe's campaign calculated that this utterly disreputable smear of a website would be more effective than telling us what Joe stands for. I guess it may actually give us insight of Joe the candidate afterall.
