FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Keck Gains Spitzer and AFL-CIO Endorsements for Assembly Race in 107th District
Kelly Keck, who is challenging Republican incumbent Clifford Crouch of Guilford to represent the 107th Assembly District, recently gained the endorsement of Attorney General and gubernatorial race front-runner Eliot Spitzer. The grassroots campaign, which will see Keck listed on the Democratic Party and Working Families Party lines on the ballot in November, has already gained support from county Democratic committees throughout the 107th district as well as Congressman Maurice Hinchey and unions including the New York State AFL-CIO. Keck is one of just a handful of state level challengers to receive the large union's endorsement.

Spitzer, who has made a name for himself by using his position as New York's Attorney General to tackle corporate corruption, said of Keck, "Kelly Keck has the conviction and resolve to follow through on the reforms that he has included in his campaign platform. His presence in the Assembly will be an asset to the residents of the 107th District, legislators in the Assembly, and all of New York because he will be accountable to the people rather than corporate interests."
Keck, a senior education specialist at the Research Foundation in Albany, has found that being a good listener serves him well on the campaign trail as well as in the classroom. The Keck campaign, which is using the slogan, "Raising Rural Voices," has launched an Open Soap Box tour throughout the 107th district in the months leading up to the election. The next appearance of the Soap Box will be at the Bibliobarn in South Kortright on August 27 with additional events to be announced soon.
Keck explained the significance of the latest endorsement, "It is an honor to be endorsed by such a well-respected Attorney General who has truly fought for the people of New York and started moving Albany towards much needed reforms."
Keck had previously been endorsed by the County Democratic Committees in Broome, Chenango, Delaware, and Ulster counties. The 107th district includes parts of all four counties.
