RedState.com has got a real gem of a
post. This poster claims that we lefties are more upset over "Path to 9/11" than we were about 9/11 itself. This poster asserts that he/she left the "Clinton Democrat" fold and became a Republican because of:
the difference in world views of the left and the moral and intellectual bankruptcy of the left, the narcissism of the left...
More below the fold...
Let's see:
- Difference in world views -- check
- Moral and intellectual bankruptcy of the left -- I can hear Rumsfeld's voice in that one. However, I view moral and intellectual bankruptcy as:
- Moral Bankruptcy: The deliberate misuse of presidential power to a) start an illegal war, b) spy on American citizens, c) torture people, d) hold secret tribunals and secret prisons, and on and on...
- Intellectual Bankruptcy: The deliberate misuse of science to advocate for specific religious and political views, most notably abortion, contraception, gay marriage, space exploration, etc.
- Narcissism: I really don't know what the poster is talking about here. We're narcissists? Would that be because we have the MSM paroting our every word, promoting all our views? Oh, wait, that's not the left. That's Fox, CNN, WSJ, and now Disney and ABC. Narcissists like to look at themselves in the mirror. Yes, indeed.
He/she also claims that:
[T]he Dem party cannot be trusted with power given their failure even NOW to have learned the lessons of 911.
It never ceases to amaze me how the right-wing is so very skilled at what classic psychologists call
projection:
Projection is a defence mechanism in which one attributes ("projects") to others, one's own unacceptable or unwanted thoughts or/and emotions. Projection reduces anxiety by allowing the expression of the unwanted subconscious impulses/desires without letting the ego recognize them.

Some on the right, like this poster, feel that the crapudrama, "Path to 9/11" is
factually accurate, and that Clinton did not do enough to catch OBL. Accuracy of that feeling notwithstanding, this begs the question: Exactly what has Bush been doing to catch OBL? Fighting a poorly-planned and poorly-strategized war in Iraq (after, of course, convincing many people that Iraq had something to do with 9/11) while letting the actual culprit, OBL, off in Tora Bora in Afghanistan doesn't seem to have resulted in any more success than sitting on hands -- in fact, it has made the world less safe than before 9/11, while alienating a large number of people globally from the United States. And yet this poster, and I am sure many, many on the Right like him/her, feel that Bush is succeeding where Clinton failed --
that Bush is succeeding where Clinton sat on his hands.
I really ought to stop being surprised by the nonsensical ravings of those on the Right. But the really rich quote is at the very beginning of the post:
[T]he Dems are...very confused morally and lack the maturity and wisdom to properly assign proportionality to threats against the United States...
Ha, that's funny. All the more funny when you think how Bush is so expertly handling his job and fighting the "war on terror," taking advice to heart and adjusting his strategy to win and move forward, and so skillfully uniting this country to face this very grave danger. But it's OK, because according to this poster,
Bush is right.
The President is always right.
