My daughter is too young to be targeted for the Scholastic/Path to 9/11 curriculum. I'm wondering how many of you have kids whose weekend assignments include watching the movie tomorrow night.
I happen to think that making some noise about the film is a good thing, but too much noise is too much. I think more people will watch than would have had there not been so much outrage. I'm more disturbed by Scholastic's roll in this than anyone else's. Regardless of the changes they've made or the spin they put on it, they are encouraging the swallowing of propaganda by our kids.
But how many kids are affected? Are teachers really pushing this? Are they really changing their lesson plan to fit this in? I mean, don't they have to prep the kids for all of those standardized tests or something?
Seriously, I haven't spoken to anyone IRL whose kids were assigned this movie. But my world is small. Was this assignment sent home with your kids? Will you fight it Monday morning? Will your kids watch the movie with you so you can point out the BS?
