Well it is that time of year when we are trying to stretch our dollars as far as possible in order to pay for heating bills, books, school, gas, etc. So I thought I would share some of my favorite ways to save cash. I'll outline some below and share with you my total savings.
Please add your own sure-fire ways to save money and perhaps we can help eachother out. My list is a bit odd but here goes:
Cut my own hair - saves 30 dollars a month.
Camping for free - Saved 120 dollars this summer
Volunteering at a concert - saved 75 dollars and got to see my favorite band.
Keeping tires inflated properly - saves undetermined amount of gas which equals cash.
Buying overstocked/closeout items - saved 450 dollars on rugs, linens and tools.
Built a storage platform, stairs, large outdoor planting box - saved about 500 dollars in fees.
Cut down dead trees myself - saved 2,000
Cut back on my voracious appetite for new music - saved 200 dollars this summer.
This is just a quick list of the things I can think of off the top of my head. Overall it looks like I saved $3,425 plus just by taking some extra time to think about my purchases.
Ok let's here your favorite ways now please.
