I realize that these diary entries are supposed to be more wordy, but I was left rather speechless (aside from the gasping and the "The Fucks!!" that passed my lips.
This is, of course, from the Senate's website.
Last night, I was enraged that CBS Nightly News mentioned nothing about the torture legislation in its lead-in, so I switched to NBC to find that they indeed were covering it, albeit with (as far as I can recall now) no response from Democrats.
After writing a letter to my local paper last week to castigate rubber stamp Roger's imminent vote for the House's version of this legislation, I shot off another last night to make my feelings known about the spineless Senator Debbie Stabenow, who voted for the Senate's version.
I then shot off a letter to her office advising her that I have decided to reconsider voting for another candidate in November's election. I will probably give in to the fear of losing her seat to the rightwinger Bouchard, but I will indeed consider my alternatives now, now that I know that votes are more important to her than human rights and the Consitution of the United States.
