I'm a Socialist* who finds the notion of averaging one's opinions with someone else's frankly ridiculous.
Equally foolish is the idea that all schools of thought, motivated by entirely different interests can be compressed to one dimension and that an opinion with any kind of value can be further compressed into zero dimensions. Politics must come from narratives and understanding, not a pencil tip indicating a point on a ruler.
I think the most important thing is that the greatest number understand the systems of power at all levels; corporate, financial, federal or local, social, religious or historical. The more these things are seen as they are, not cynically and not with hubris, the more they must change to seem just.

I've had quite a few ideas for diaries come into my head over the last few months. I don't know what'll come of that. I think I'll try to write a diary a day and see where it goes...
