Taking a break from my usual listening cycle on the way home from work, I decided to stay tuned to WAEB-AM, after the news and traffic, to see what Sean Hannity had to talk about.
Now to be upfront, as usual, I am a Republican, and I have found Rush Limbaugh entertaining ( but not really informitive ) but I have never really liked Hannity. He's creepy, and for me to say that, means a lot.
Anyway, So he comes back on and his special guest is Tom DeLay. Whom I think is also kinda creepy. They do the usual back and forth and then it starts. If the Democrats win the election this fall, we're not going to be safe ever again.
And it got worse. They then stopped saying if the Dems won the House and started saying 'If Nancy Pelosi is Speaker'. And I was waiting for the punhcline of 'The Dems will spend two years impeaching the President'.
It was much worse than that. Apparently if Nancy Pelosi is speaker, and We'll pull out of Iraq, the terrorists will overrun the Middle East, Universal Health care will become law, and something about North Korea.
What really got me pissed off was DeLay's remark "If Pelosi is Speaker and we lose the House, I don't care about the Senate, if we lose the House . . ' all the above would happen.
I'm a stickler for details. Like when someone says 'The President created 100,000 jobs, by passing a law." Presidents no matter what party can't pass laws, and can't create 100,000 jobs. People who gloss over the details like that lose all respect in my eyes. All repsect for DeLay is gone. What he's glossing over is that the House will somehow magically be able to pass laws without the Democratic controlled Senate.
This is why I hate politics and the fall so much at times, fear mongering and the shit that happen on Hannity's radio show today make me sick.
