Republican Vern Buchanan won the race for U.S. House District 13 over Democrat Christine Jennings by a margin of 368 votes.
Neither Buchanan or Jennings had claimed victory as of 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Here.
And, as I understand, provisional ballots have yet to be counted. I highly doubt that the provisionals will result in enough votes, but regardless, this race goes to an automatic recount.
And so it should: Especially, because there is more, much more.
From the same article above:
Many people apparently chose not vote in the District 13 race. About 16,000 fewer people voted in the race than in the other high-profile races for governor, attorney general and United States Senate.
...
The low voting in District 13 didn't hold true in other counties.
In Sarasota County, 140,664 people voted for Bill Nelson, Katherine Harris or another candidate for U.S. Senate. In the governor race between Charlie Crist and Jim Davis, 140,448 county residents voted.
Only 123,901 voted for Jennings or Buchanan. In comparison, about 4,000 more people voted in the Sarasota Public Hospital Board election.
But a similar undervote was not recorded in other counties that voted in the District 13 race. In Desoto County, only about 70 fewer votes were cast in the House race as the governor's race. That represents a 1.1 percent undervote. In Manatee County - where not all voters even get to vote in the House race -- the undervote for the Jennings-Buchanan race was nearly 6 percent, half that of Sarasota County, which registered a nearly 13 percent undervote when compared to the governor's race.

So provisionals haven't been counted, there's an auto recount, some statistical anomalies, and more oddities that will make ink tomorrow.
Oh, and there's more:
In this mornings Herald-Tribune - BEFORE voting even started today: There was this gem - based on early voting:
Poll workers are to remind every voter to look out for the 13th Congressional District race on the electronic ballot after at least four people complained that their initial votes for Democrat Christine Jennings weren't recorded.
When I voted today I was not reminded to "look out for the 13th Congressional District race on the electronic ballot" - and many others have come forward to state the same.
This is far from over - maybe I should have named this diary: PROMOTE THIS FUCKING VOTE FRAUD KOS!
But I am tired, haven't slept much, and probably won't in the next few days. Because I've been busy volunteering for the Jennings campaign and will fight with her to the end.
Shameless plug here: So busy in fact, that I lost TU status here recently, and take respite that you champaign poppers (congrats all) will reward me with a little mojo love...
Hope that was coherent - and I'd promise a better update tomorrow, but I think I may be just a bit busy.
Oh, and let me just say this about Jennings: She is on top of this completely - no retreat.
