I have been watching politics for awhile now, especially watching the rigid right wing take over America by any means possible. I have felt defeated and powerless in their wake, thinking nothing could be done, elections were being stolen, people were being brainwashed and apathetic - more concerned with football scores than national policy.
All that has now changed and I can't help but feel that bloggers and their members have made the difference. I say a congratulations in order for Markos - he proves one person can really make a difference. And congratulations to ourselves for being concerned, making our voices heard, being part of the national conversation, making donations and for making "power of the people, for the people" more than a slogan - making it a reality again.
It takes the backing of many people to make change happen but it only takes one to point us in the right direction and keep our momentum going - Kos provided that role.
Peace, positivity, democracy and hope prevailed over divisiveness, fear, hate, greed and power at any cost. We have a lot to be be grateful for and I for one am thankful for Kos getting all us like-minded people together in a forum that was a great catalyst for positive change for our world, our nation and each one of us.
