In the SHOH33 poll conducted on 6 July 2006 by the Scripps Survey Research Center at Ohio University about one third of the people surveyed said that they believed that there was a government conspiracy involving 9/11. Many are saying that there was a conspiracy involving an inside demolition job to bring down the WTC on 9/11. I have even heard that Marvin Bush, Bush's brother, owns a security company that cleared out the WTC buildings twice before 9/11.
None of this, however, has proven to be demonstrably true, to my knowledge. Yet, without proof an inside job, there is still a cause for reasonable suspicions about the Bush administration's involvement in the events of 9/11.
The most interesting thing about the Bush administration is that it is an obvious attempt to reenact the Reagan administration. Most people do not acknowledge this, and perhaps it is because they do not realize it, which is rather inexplicable. I realize this fact and I was born in 1983 for Chrissakes.
Many of the top officials in the Bush admin are holdovers from the Reagan years and they are known as "neocons," which is ridiculous, because they are extreme statists and there is nothing conservative about them.
There has even been a campaign to revise history and paint Reagan as a beloved President, though his approval rating and the public approvals of his policies were never stellar during his Presidency.
So, what's the point in all this? Well, from the very beginning of the Reagan admin, it was known that the war on terrorism was going to be the centerpiece of their foreign policy strategy. I have never heard this point mentioned recently, which seems rather strange - why wouldn't the Republicans want to remind people about the Reagan admin's focus on terrorism? The Bush admin shared virtually every major policy focus with the Reagan admin from the outset except one: terrorism. The Bush admin did not focus on terrorism until after the events of 9/11. And they did so seemingly overnight, with a very robust policy platform.
Thus, even without knowing the specifics of the staged demolition of the WTC, which is not a proven fact as yet, one is warranted some rather valid suspicions about the Bush admin and there intentions with the Global War on Terror and their involvement in the events of 9/11.
