Apparently, the good Senator from South Dakota is doing ok.
U.S. Sen. Tim Johnson (news, bio, voting record) will not need additional surgery, the U.S. Capitol physician said on Thursday, adding the South Dakota Democrat was having an "uncomplicated post-operative course."
That's about the extent of the information that's been released, but seems to me like that's good news.
Whether or not you care about it being good news for the Senate, I think we can all agree (or at least hope) that it's good news for the Senator and his family, and we can all agree in our hopes and prayers/meditations/good vibes for a full recovery.
UPDATE: A bit more info from Reuters:
Noting that Johnson was now "appropriately responsive to both word and touch," Eisold said the 59-year-old senator "has continued to have an uncomplicated post-operative course."
Noah Pinegar, a Johnson spokesman, cautioned: "At this point no further surgery has been needed. The next 24 to 48 hours remain the next critical benchmark."
