As our dear friend Carnacki is taking a much deserved break from all things technological, I have been asked to fill in this evening for tonight's installment of the award winning community series, "Got a Happy Story?" Now, I am sure when most of you heard I would be filling in, your hearts and minds filled with dread and doom at the thought of the author of "F*ck Ohio" writing about happiness.
Indeed, I billed my upcoming installment as "Happy Stories: The Flame War." But then when I sat down to write the Flame War version of 'Happy Story,' I realized that 1) unless I get commenters troll rating each other over which Happy Story is the best, it is unlikely a flame war would erupt here; and 2) the flame wars, in all their forms, at work, at home, on the highways and on the internet, are exactly what most of us are fleeing when we come here every week.
So I threw that idea away with the trash.
So, what is happiness? Happiness, like beauty, is very much in the eye of the beholder. What makes me happy does not make you happy. What makes you happy annoys, bothers or disturbs me. The perfect example of that is 'pooties.' I consider them vile, disgusting, unholy creatures of the night that are better served as cannonfodder than as pets. Most of you people like them, and consider them cute and cuddly.
Yuck.
So tonight's theme is "what makes you happy, but annoys someone else, like your significant other or friends?"
What follows are some things that make me happy, namely, photography, Philadelphia, and the Eagles.
And, finally, here are some Eagles fans in the heart of New Orleans.
Sing along.
Fly Eagles Fly

Score a Touchdown 1-2-3
