Many have speculated that Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois will announce his candidacy for President of the United States on the Martin Luther King Jr. Day (observed), Monday.
It appears that Obama's growing staff is behind the placement of blog-ads as a precursor to a imminent announcement.
An ad linking to the site, Obama For America, has appeared on some national political blogs, including political wire.
Heledivous of Political Insider (off-shoot of Wire) has this to say this evening:
We're told the Barack Obama advertisement on this and many other blogs to "kickstart his campaign" is a real ad placed by Obama's people.
So it looks like Sen. Obama is set to announce very soon as he has begun to organize his staff for a Presidential run.
I had a good idea this was coming when a friend of mine, who is a Democratic election field coordinator, told me he will be interviewing with Obama's staff very soon for a job placement in Iowa or NH to begin this summer.
So do you have the audacity to hope? I look forward to the Senators voice in this contest and know that the more, the merrier, as I make my decision. Democrats will take the White House in 2008, I am confident of it.
Update and disclosure: I have no coordination, contact, and/or interests with the obama4america site or Barack Obama's staff or his potential campaign. This was a personal descision to make note of this ad and the announcement to Political Insider that the Draft Obama site is in coordination with the likely Obama campaign. To clarify any confusion, and to take any responsibility for misinformation from my diary.
