AMD's well may be running dry: "The financial people would be delighted to hear AMD would not be investing in any factories. They would be delighted if Intel would not compete on price to gain market share and would focus on margins. That's great for the next three quarters, but a train wreck for both companies."
Both of those companies operate on an already very quick market. Semiconductors are on a ~2-3 years cycle. AMD was supposedly dead less than 6 years ago. Both companies have been in business for decades.
Yet the "financial people" have such a short attention span that they can't see past 9 months in the future! And those are the people the right want in charge.
