thats the date of my first diary here on the dailykos. In all that time I have never had a comment deleted before. Now I've had 3 all in one day.
The issue seems small almost silly. A diary was created that I read and Interpreted as emotional propaganda of generalized information instead of the claimed specific information about the posters own town. When the poster was pressed for the detail of first the town and then just the county they evaded.
What do you do? you dig, investigate the truth of the information or so I thought. Seems there are two different rules.
It seems that if its somebody on the "right" side of the aisle you investigate them for every last detail but if they are on the "left" side of the aisle you're supposed to accept it at face value.
I didnt get that memo so I investigated.
After thinking about it for a couple of minutes I started reading the posters previous diaries they had posted on dailykos. I found multiple times where the poster posted their county and congressional district, I posted this information in the hopes others would help verify the posters story.
seems posting information posted publicly by a diarist in trying to track down the validity of a story is not accepted unless we do it to the other side.
Censorship of information especially basic public information for story validity is a stake to the heart of what an open society is. Look no further than the chimpenfurer and the jackbooted thugs who make things up then hide, obfuscate and obstruct any attempts at getting to the truth.
If your diary can not stand the light of basic scrutiny without needing to censor comments that means there is a lack of truth to your story and it needs to be removed, re-examinded for truth and either discarded or edited.
I am dismayed to see the actions I fight against everyday on other boards showing up at this one. If as a diarist you need to rely on getting angry at questions and censoring them then you have become what you fight against.
