Yes, I am sure the very thought expressed in my headline was going through the minds of many in the media and the Bush administration last night, at the White house Correspondent's Dinner.

As the porcine Kkkarl Rove did his racist rap shtick, NBC's David Gregory was aiding and abetting the scene of the crime. Link:

Which crime you ask? Follow me after the fold for more ranting.....

I don't know about any of you, but the video clips of last night's dinner reminded me  nothing so much as some of the old film clips I've seen of the Vichy French and some of the Germans who collaborated and partied with the Nazis. Perhaps you've see seen them? You know, where various "collaborators" are shown eating, drinking, and being merry with the Nazis. That's what it reminded me of.

Here, we have the most corrupt administration in this nation's history, responsible for over a HALF-MILLION DEATHS from their illegal and unwarranted invasion of Iraq, and media traitors like David Gregory (and so many others), yukked it up with these fascists like it was all a simple game.

They must hold all of us in utter and complete contempt. That's the only conclusion I can reach. They must assume that they are all "unreachable", and so "above" all of us lowly "Fodder Units" (the elder Pres. Bush was once quoted as calling those below his station, "fodder units", if I remember correctly).

So no, instead of having an MSM that is investigating and reporting the many serious crimes of this regime, they are tinkling glasses, toasting, and laughing at you and I. The fucking joke is on us fellow F.U.'s. The joke is definitely on us.

I am so completely angry, demoralized, and disheartened at what took place last night, I am not sure how to express my contempt. I am almost beyond outrage. Where do I take my rage? How can we bring down not only this reckless and dangerous regime, but also their media collaborators? We simply have to do SOMETHING!

We must demand that the Democrats investigate and prosecute these media collaborators, just as actively as they pursuing the administration. We must  DEMAND the break-up of all media conglomerates, enforcement of RICO laws against them, and the re-imposition of the "Fairness Doctrine".

Our failure to demand action and accountability against our collaborationist media, will cause the complete demise of our democracy. We're almost 90% of the way there now, and have little time left to stop the hemorrhaging. Looks like I'll be calling, faxing, and e-mailing Congress yet again over this. Think they'll care?

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
