I'm throwing up a quickie, non-regulation diary to let people know that New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine suffered serious injuries in an auto accident this evening. The only diary relating the news right now is a racist troll diary that I trust will soon vanish. Since there isn't an open thread at the moment, and people may want the news, be able to discuss it and to express their best wishes for the governor, I thought I'd post this.
He is in intensive care with rib and chest injuries and a broken leg, but the injuries are not currently seen as life-threatening.

Corzine hurt in accident
Gov. Corzine was seriously injured tonight when his Chevy Tahoe was involved in a hit-and-run accident and swerved into a guardrail on the Garden State Parkway. The governor, who was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, did not appear to have suffered life-threatening injuries.
Corzine was on his way from an Atlantic City speech to host a private meeting between radio show host Don Imus and the Rutgers University women's basketball team at Drumthwacket, the governor's mansion in Princeton.
During a news conference at Cooper tonight, hospital officials said the governor was in stable condition in the intensive-care unit, with fractured ribs, a broken leg, and chest injuries. He did not sustain any head injuries. He was in surgery tonight and was expected to be hospitalized overnight.
State Senate President Richard J. Codey was serving as acting governor of New Jersey tonight, said Corzine spokesman Anthony Coley.
