We've seen a flood of diaries from various representatives over the last few days, explaining why they are voting no on the war funding bill.
I could care less.
Why?
I'll tell you below the fold.
For the last 15 years or so, the Dems have suffered from the political version of battered wife syndrome. The Republicans accuse us of everything in the book and we didn't fight back. We tried everything possible except the obvious: FIGHT BACK.
Rush called us this! That hurts my feelings! I'll run away.
Hannity said this.
Coulter said that.
Finally it looked like we had some balls. We sent Bush a bill and he vetoed it. And then it looked like we were going to send him another bill with a plan to end this war we can't afford. And then......
We backed down.
Let me say that again.
We backed down.
Now we own this damn war as well as the Republicans.
Thanks a lot guys.
Never mind that a majority of Americans want a timetable. That's irrelevent. Why in God's name should representatives in an elected Democracy actually listen to what the people want. That would be insane. Better to listen to the sane people who got us in this mess.
Like the idiots who said the war would cost $100 billion. Or that oil revenues would pay for the war. Or that Iraq had WMDs. Or -- you get the idea.
To all of you Representatives telling us why you're voting no, or yes, or who are wasting out time with your endless explanations and drivel ---
Go away.
In case you missed that, let me say this again.
Go away.
One more time for the thick-headed
I'm sick of listening to your crap.
I want new leadership from the ground up.
I forgot to add --
You guys haven't done jack about the deficit yet.
Bastards.
