Why do we not hear more about this? Forced abortions are the other side of what happens when the government takes control over the peoples reproductive choices.
Where is the outcry from the religious right? Actually, where is the outcry from anyone, besides a few NPR reports? Apparently this has been going on for years and is not limited to China. So why have we not constantly and repetitively seen or heard in the MSM, in the blogs, from the White House, on this issue? The only thing I can think of is the Slippery Slope.
In all these stories the government is taking control over the reproductive rights of its citizens and residents. Much in the same way that the religious right in this Nation want to take control. Except "over there" the control is to force abortions. Over here the control is to stop abortions. If our body police were to publicize and condemn these practices they would essentially be saying that the government has no right to control the choices made by it's people. Then where would they be? They would be travelling down the slippery slope to greater freedoms of behavior and thought to the people, rather than the government.
Anyway; this is my first diary. It's mostly practice but I hope people can find something to think about from it.
