This excerpt is from Diane Feinstein's reply to my impeachment email.
"Dear Mr. Smith,
At this time, however, I believe that impeachment proceedings against President Bush or Vice President Cheney will only divide the country even further, frustrating our hopes for a meaningful change in direction, while having little chance of success."
O really?
Apparently a country already divided should not attempt to re-unite itself by taking appropriate action?
Its no wonder I'm feeling such a sense of powerlessness. Each time I write my elected representatives with a request to do the right thing in defense of our Constitution, I get back a note that says something to the effect of the excerpt above. Under the rules of the game, our Congress is supposed to insure that the checks and balances provided for in the Constitution as applied to the Executive Branch are enforced.
Sorry, fuck you, we're too busy with the people's business.
So I guess we're just gonna take it, just like we have since 9/11, because fear is a great (de)motivator, whether its fear of failure, success or the unknown.
